Broforce is a parody run-and-gun game made in a 2D side-scrolling manner. Players are offered to take control of a Bro – one of the soldiers of the special Broforce unit. Actually, players are going to assume roles of several protagonists (all are Bros) while completing game levels. The main idea is to make a parody of fictional movie heroes of the 80s - 90s. During the levels Bros fight against terrorists in the setting of games of the 80s to rescue other Bros. The gameplay features special combat mechanics: each Bro has two different attacks (first is constant and endless, while the second requires recharging) and a melee weapon to climb the obstacles. However, enemies can be also defeated by using distracting maneuvers. Bros also have special abilities like parkour skill or explosion resistance. The level can be completed only if another Bro is rescued, terrorists with their boss are eliminated, and the American flag is set on the enemies’ base. After each mission, the location explodes and Bros fly away by helicopter.
2. Volgarr the Viking
Volgarr the Viking is a 2D action-platformer inspired by classic platformers such as Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Rastan.
The game follows a Viking named Volgarr summoned by Odin to defeat an evil dragon. The gameplay shares many similarities with old-school side-scrollers.
The game consists of six main worlds and one secret level. Each of the world except the final one, divided into two part: an open area referred to as ‘level’ and a ‘temple’ with a boss on the end of it. On every stage, you have to go from the beginning to finish slaying monsters on your way and picking up treasures and power-ups. Volgarr has two weapons: throwing the spear and a sword. Throwing spear can be charged, and if it hits the wall, it serves as a platform that allows player achieve secret places. Additionally, Volgarr can pick up Mjolnir’s Blessing, a power-up that kills all non-boss enemies on the screen upon taking a hit. The hero has several different moves to fight the enemies and getting through platforming sequences such as jumping slash, crouching slash and down thrust.
The player can collect treasures scattered throughout the levels. Most of them only affect the player’s points. However, picking up particular Life Fires gives the player access to particular Valkyrie levels – alternate versions on game world with different layouts and more challenging enemies. The amount of Life Fires player collected affects the number of lives they have to beat Valkyrie level. Completing all of them in a single playthrough unlock a secret level Yggdrasill where Volgarr has to defeat the last boss in the game - Nidhogg.

Based on the star-studded animated feature film from DreamWorks
Animation, Madagascar is the only console game that lets players enter
the world of 4 hilarious Central Park Zoo animals--a personality-packed
crew made up of a lion, zebra, giraffe and hippo--and their crafty
penguin sidekicks. Players must master each animal’s natural skills
while adventuring through the exciting city of New York and the
dangerous island of Madagascar, interacting with other animals and
tackling obstacles and enemies in scenarios from the movie and beyond.
• Get in touch with your animal instincts - Fighting for survival has
never been this much fun. Play as the main characters from the
movie—Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the
Giraffe—as you take on obstacles, interact with characters and face off
against enemies. In bonus chapters, play as different characters—from
lovable lemurs to crafty penguins.
• Rock the city and rule the
jungle - Test your animal abilities in mini-games and 11 action-packed,
movie-based chapters including "Manhattan Street Chase," where you
search for Marty on the mean streets of New York; "Penguin Mutiny,"
where the penguins overtake a giant cargo vessel; and "Jungle Banquet,"
where you get ready for the feast of a lifetime.
• Collect high
scores in bonus mini-games - Take on three bonus chapters including
"Shuffleboard," where you play as an array of characters in a wide
variety of shuffleboard settings; "Tiki Golf," where you golf with the
natives on tropical-themed courses; and "Lemur Rave," where you can test
out your rhythm skills to cool jungle beats.
• Get your groove on as
you go - Develop new skills as you take the role of each zoo animal
during the game. Help Alex maximize the power of his claws, roar and
pounce; get Marty to pump up his long jump, back kick and stealth crawl
skills; utilize Gloria’s butt smash and spiced up charge; and perfect
Melman's helicopter spin and ammo-throwing neck fling. (The ammo we’re
talkin' 'bout here includes coconuts and lemurs, thank you very much.)
The fun is never done - with the GBA and NDS games you'll test your
animal abilities across diverse environments in mini-games, 9 training
levels and 12 action-packed, movie based levels. Enjoy Nintendo DS
extras — use your Nintendo DS touch screen to switch characters in the
middle of levels or to play 2 platform exclusive, 3D mini-games. You can
also take on a friend in a wireless co-op mini-game.
5. Canyon Capers
Canyon Capers is a 2D platformer game.
The main character, DinoJr, is out on a quest of exploring different dungeons, canyons, and caves and hunting for great treasures hidden there. Other characters are unlockable through playing, with their unique traits and different approaches to each level. The levels in the game vary in goals and activities, wherein some there is a time limit to complete the run, while in others the player has to score some points by collecting trophies and defeating enemies.
The game follows a pattern set by the classic retro platformers: the player controls a character who can jump, get rid of enemies by landing on top of them and collect different upgrades. While at that, the game offers different challenges in the form of puzzles to solve and 50 different levels with progressing difficulty. Various types of enemies and dangerous traps await at each map, but the player can restore his progress after dying - the character respawns at the last haven.

The biggest appeal of this game comes from discovering all the ways you can attack your enemies. Your weaponry includes three main blast weapons upgradable by collecting more items, a charged attack you can use when Iron Clad is attached to your ship, three types of melee weapons you can brandish to show off your strength in close-range combat, a bomber that clears all enemy bullets, and finally shooting patterns that change based on whether the Iron Clad is attached or disconnected from your ship. And not surprisingly, a vast array of weaponry lies in wait to be part of your arsenal. You can even select the stages you want, feeding your hunger for combat and allowing you to see different endings for each play through! We might guess your #1 question is "Where is the game progress-wise and when can I play it?"
We’ve spent the last two plus years working on Boss 101. All the primary art and much of the base tech has had its first and sometimes second and third pass. This includes bosses, levels, minions, player weapons, VFX and overall UI along many others. We’re now focusing on the tweaks and tunes to weapons, scoring and feel of the game. What’s in the game is workable but let’s be honest – you want the best and so do we. We’re taking the time to tune, playtest and make it awesome.
Our current estimates put the game landing early 2017. That is really dependent on how things come together from a gameplay and bug quashing perspective. We think it’s very doable but we also believe there is no point in rushing a game out the door. Your support means something to us and we want to make it count. We’ve been keeping a weekly blog going for a while now and we intend to keep it up.Steam Trading Cards, Steam Saves and AchievementsThese are all planned for release. We've already planned out our Steam Achievements as well as laid out our Trading Card ideas.Early AccessThis is mos-def on our minds but if we do Early Access we want to make it a meaningful process for us and you. That said - we're listening to you!LanguagesWe've been asked about the release of Boss 101 in different languages and the short answer is yes, we would love to release it in as many languages as requested. We're a small team so for the main release we are targeting English. From there we will be looking to translate it to the most requested languages.
If you're interested in helping us or just want to put in a request for a specific language please contact us directly at ([email protected]) with your request or info.Mac and LinuxWe are concentrating on the PC version for ship but we will look into Linux and Mac after our initial release. Like languages, we want to bring this to as many platforms as we can!Suggestions and CommentsThese are always welcome and we will do what we can to answer each one directly.
