1. GRID 2
GRID 2 is a racing game, the sequel to Race Driver: GRID.
In the centre of the "story" GRID 2 is a racing championship, which we gradually promote around the world. Money is not needed, the main thing is to conquer the audience. The race will be held in such places as Paris, Hong Kong, Chicago, Dubai, etc. All the tracks, drivers, teams, cars and sponsors in the game are real.
Compared to GRID (the first part of the series), there are more modes. There were races on the so-called "Checkpoint", endurance race and other several options. And the significant thing now that there is no driving on the rails, sudden acceleration of rivals and unpunished wiping of bumpers (also, damage to the machine is not displayed on the screen, it is necessary to focus on its behaviour and the replica of racing engineer).
The main feature of GRID is time rewinding. The number of rewinds is limited, but with this, you can save yourself from a fatal outcome.
Driveclub is focused on professional car racing on the track. You can create or join the clubs, the so-called communities up to 6 people, what makes the passage of common tests sufficiently easier (the actions of the club members affect the result). The environment and tracks are inspired by real locations in different parts of the planet. Also, there is an opportunity to generate dynamic weather conditions (rain, snow, fog, as well as day or night).
There are three main in-game modes: tour, single event and multiplayer. In the tour, the player is given the opportunity to complete individual tests with a specific set of purposes and with particular test cars. In the check-in mode, one of three additional modes can be chosen: drift, race and time race.
The game has a vast diversity of cars (in total 50 models), the auto park updates each time with the appearance of patches.

3. Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box is an extended version of the original Burnout Paradise game. The game offers action racing that sometimes resembles the demolition derby in an open-world setting of Paradise City. The game has a remarkable damage system that improves the whole experience and interrupts monotonous moves across the city, which is free-to-explore for the first time in a series. With The Ultimate Box edition, developers added day/night time cycles and dynamic weather system, so graphics became much better. Changes also affected the gameplay. Now players can race and explore the entire map of the city either by car or by bike that were also added. The racing career begins at the dump, where the driver, controlled by players, gets their first car and two new bikes. Players complete races and fill the “driving license” scale to upgrade the level and to open new cars and events. The free roam mode itself is also an integral part of the gameplay: while traveling across the map drivers are able to perform various stunts and unlock special achievements for the “license” experience.
4. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is an arcade racing game, where you complete missions switching between a police officer and a racer. While the goal is the same - to reach the finish first, the game allows trying another side of races as you need to stop a lawbreaker in the police part of the game.
Unlike typical racing titles, Hot Pursuit follows the principle that "all is fair." That's why both sides have special tools to stop the opponent. You can throw spikes on the road or use turbo acceleration to break away from the pursuit. Police can block the road and summon a helicopter for help from above.
Additionally, Hot Pursuit features a new Autolog social system. With it, you can compete with your friends and see the statistics on every race. The system compares your results with your friends' ones and notifies you every time your record is beaten.

8. DiRT Showdown
DiRT Showdown is not a traditional racing simulator of the DiRT series. The only similar thing that relates Showdown to the original games is a high level of graphics: developers added day/night time cycles and dynamic weather system, so the whole picture looks beautiful. This game offers an arcade physics that focus players on their positive emotions. Even the advanced damage system is only a cosmetic feature because damages don’t really affect car running performance. Everything in the game is made for the spectacle. The vehicle range was expanded: imaginary monsters specially prepared for the demolition were added to already existing licensed rally cars. Racing experience covers picturesque landscapes throughout America. All the events can be divided into four main classes (Racing, Demolition, Hoonigan, and Party) and then into numerous types. Gradual completion of the events gives money for buying new vehicles or upgrading existing ones and opens new perspectives for drivers. DiRT Showdown offers both single and multiplayer experience.
9. The Crew
The Crew is an online driving simulator developed by Ivory Tower.
Alex Taylor, the brother of a 5-10 motor club founder Dayton, helps his brother run some errands. But it does not go according to plan as Dayton gets killed. Alex is framed for his murder and sent to prison. Five years pass, an FBI agent proposes a deal to Alex. He will be let go if he helps expose a corrupt FBI Special Agent. Alex agrees and sets out to seek revenge.
The Crew features a vast open world that resembles the scaled down version of the modern United States. The map is divided into five regions each of which features different geography and weather. The game's missions can be played alone or in a player's crew. The game is online-only nonetheless. Apart from the usual races, players can participate in so-called skill challenges. After every mission, the player's score is saved and displayed to all his friends. Online matchmaking allows up to eight players to participate in one race.
10. FlatOut 2
The second part of the FlatOut series offers a variety of racing options. This part of the series has street racing as its main theme.
The game includes 34 cars divided by three types: "derby", "race" and "street". As the player's career progresses, he or she can unlock more cars that include everything up to school buses. Each car has its unique characteristics and may require different driving styles. The player can also upgrade his or her existing vehicle instead of purchasing a new one.
In the career mode, the game includes more than 30 tracks with varied environment and length. The levels often allow more than one route to choose from at any lap. AI-controlled opponents have personalities that define their driving style. Besides the races, there are mini-games that offer the player to perform stunts.
Differences from the original game
Compared to the first part, the sequel doubled on the number of available cars, tracks, and mini-games. FlatOut 2 also introduced longer tournaments and online multiplayer. There's also an improved physics engine. The tire grip was enhanced, making the controls more sturdy, and the cars are now less likely to bounce off the track.
There's also a ragdoll physics model that defines the movements of the driver within the car. After crashes and during the stunt mini-games the driver may even fly out of the car. In some mini-games, the goal is to throw the driver's body as far as possible or to land it on a designated target.
11. Forza Horizon 2
The open world car racing simulator, part of the Forza game series, or rather the sequel to the Forza Horizon game, which was released in 2012. The game has a continuation - Forza Horizon 3.
In the story of the game, the player participates in the fictional Horizon racing festival, taking place in southern France and northern Italy.
The game world of Forza Horizon 2 is about three times larger than the world of the game Forza Horizon.
In total, the game has more than two hundred different cars, among which there are exotic, rally, trucks and "hot" hatchbacks. Among them: Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 and Lamborghini Aventador in the version of Veneno, McLaren P1, LaFerrari, Koenigsegg Agera, Bugatti Veyron in the version of Sport.
Players explore the terrain in which the races take place, take part in races and other events - without all this, you cannot advance further in the game. Time of the day, day and night, were present in previous games, and in Forza Horizon 2 for the first time in the Forza Motorsport series a dynamic weather system was implemented.
To the modes of the game, known from previous games, new modes are added. For example, the Bucket List is a group of competitions, the result of which is taken into account for all group competitions in total. In multiplayer mode in the Bucket List, you can invite a friend or a random player, this mode has its own name Co-Op Bucket Lists. Another mode, also multiplayer, Car Meets, allows players to compare their cars. For multiplayer ringing modes are also available, sprint races, off-road racing and others.
The first addition to Storm Island (for the Xbox One version of the game) contains a new terrain - Storm Island. It has its own tracks, five new types of competitions, the expansion of the game engine weather system, five new cars and one car in the hangar.
The supplement dedicated to Porsche cars contains ten cars, including the Porsche 944, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Porsche Macan Turbo, Porsche Cayman GT4.
Forza Horizon 2 also has a Fast & Furios cinema franchise - Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious. In this supplement, nitrous oxide appears for the first time in the Forza Motorsport series.

12. SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED
Shift 2: Unleashed (Unleashed) Need for Speed: Shift. The sequel expands on many aspects that were introduced in the original.
The game offers 148 cars from 36 manufacturers and 35 different tracks on which players can compete in several types of races.
The game is not overloaded with plot details, not directly related to car racing. The main character is a novice racer who wants to become a champion - and that’s it!
The same approach is seen in many other characteristics of the game. In particular, in the organization of management and in the system of admission to the following levels. Much has been done in these things easier than one might have expected. At the same time, the game is a full-fledged car racing simulator - you need to control different cars in different ways, in full dependence on engine power, front or rear wheel drive, as well as on tuned systems installed on the car, parts and corresponding settings. Even one detail can significantly change the ride.
The creators of the game emphasize the difference between arcade type games and car simulators - and refer Shift 2: Unleashed to the genre of realistic car simulators. This is a game about real life.
In contrast to the realistic movement of cars, the racetracks in the game do not always repeat their real prototypes. However, all changes in the configuration of the tracks are undertaken in order to make the game more interesting.
Among the main innovations of the game are: an in-helmet camera, a hot dog.
'Helmet-camera' - allowing you to observe the game through the eyes of a car pilot. The image of this camera, respectively, is completely dependent on the movement of the pilot's head during the race. The camera shakes, tilts when cornering, jerks forward in collisions. And if the car goes at high speeds, the image of the camera simulates the blurring of the field of view, typical of the human vision in similar situations. Finally, if the car and the pilot get into such an accident, in which the camera should break, it breaks and the player’s point of view returns to normal observation.
Hey, it’s not a bad idea. champion.
In the career mode, players learn driving skills from reputable teachers, with a total of about ten world-class instructors in the game.
For example, Vaughn Gittin, a Formula D Champion talks about the career of a pilot in general, how to customize the car, Autolog, teaches how to drift.

14. Need For Speed Undercover
Need For Speed Undercover is a racing game and the twelfth installment in the twenty-four-title long series of the same name.
Almost every Need For Speed game features the same gameplay features, and Undercover is no different. There is an open world which is permitted to discover at any time in contrary with, for instance, Most Wanted, where the environment was zoned, and the locations opened as the story progressed.
The car collisions system has become more realistic compared to the previous parts of the game, but damage remained cosmetic only with no impact on performance. However, the car may be destroyed in Highway Battle — one of the game mods.
The title features some RPG elements — wheelman points, which grants the player access to bonus levels and car parts.
The police in the game are traced by the bar at the top of the screen varying between Busted and Evade modes. The capturing of the player results in the checkpoint restart.
The game's title suggests the protagonist role in the story — he is an undercover police agent given a task to infiltrate the group of street-racers to expose them to arrest. The background behind the races is taking down the criminal gangs and cliques. During the narrative player is faced with some dilemmas demanding a hard choice of him on which side to take.

Every one of them can be played either offline or online. Racing events take place all around the world. The main objective of the game is to win all the X-Games events present in the game.
The players use an RV as their headquarters. There you can choose races to participate in, customize a wide range of cars or choose your co-driver. Multiple racing stars are present in the game, most notably Ken Block and Travis Pastrana.
The game features an enhanced physics engine which simulates vehicle weight with pin-point accuracy and allows for realistic terrain effect on the handling of the car driven by the player.

18. MotorStorm Apocalypse
MotorStorm Apocalypse is a racing game developed by Evolution Studios. It is the third installment in the MotorStorm series.
You take part in The Festival, an extreme racing event that takes place in a post-apocalyptic San-Francisco. The city is torn apart by devastating earthquakes. There are no civilians left in the town, apart from scavengers and the PMCs sent to maintain at least some degree of order.
The Festival consists of three categories of events which are different in their difficulty. For every race, the player has to choose a vehicle from a pre-determined class. Buggies, motorcycles, and cars are present in the game. Players are free to tune and customize their vehicles as they see fit.
The game features an advanced damage model. After sustaining a certain amount of damage, the cars crash and explode. Every vehicle can use a boost for a limited amount of time. If the player boosts for too long, the car can blow up. The car's engine can be cooled off to use a bit more boost.
The inhabitants of San-Fran will attempt to interfere into the races. The scavengers try to slam the racers off the road using stolen cars or shoot at them while the PMCs create additional hazards for the participants of The Festival, such as an attack helicopter. Players have to keep in mind that the city is still vulnerable to natural disasters with buildings crumbling down on their heads.

19. Midnight Club: LA
Midnight Club: Los Angeles is a racing game. It is the fourth title in Midnight Club IP and the first installment to not to feature any numbers in the name.
Developed by Rockstar Studios, Midnight Club: Los Angeles features the open-world nature of the game's environment from their early GTA games: the in-game time circles around the city's lifecycle — the day changes the night and vice versa. Not only game monitors the time of the day, but also it adapts the traffic on the streets and weather to it. For example, in the morning and the evening, there are traffic jams throughout the town.
The gameplay tracks include ten modes including lap races, sprints and tete-a-tete races with the police who is now, in contrary with the previous game, is not scripted to one mode in the gameplay process, but can be tied to any in-game event. The games are reward with rep points, which can be spent on the vehicles stylings and tuning while also depicting the level of the protagonist's skills.
The game follows a narrative of The Player — that is how the protagonist is called — moving to Los Angeles. Once he arrives, he is suggested to pick one out of three cars to start his racing career. The next events alongside with the races examine the success story of a street racer who has found the MidNight L.A. Club.

Starting as a hobby project of two 14-year-olds in 1998, Robert Clemens and Jan Bodenstein developed a vision for their game of dreams: Crashday – a game that would combine elements of their back-then favourites Carmageddon (1996) and Stunts (1990). In a time long before indie games became a normal thing, the duo taught themselves about programming and creating game art to make their vision come true. Developer Moonbyte Studios was born.
Fast-forward eight years, the PC racing game actually hit the shelves in early 2006 – completed with the help of development partner Replay Studios, and distributed by then-publisher Atari. Long overdue and far more complex than in the developers' wildest dreams, the game saw a positive reception amongst players worldwide. Crashday quickly built up a community of passionate online players, track builders, and enthusiastic modders. Last but not least due to extensive modding capabilities, the game had eventually survived far longer than anyone had expected.
2017. Already past its tenth anniversary and driven by tremendous support from a few still-active Crashday players and fans, Moonbyte decided to bring their “baby” back to Steam. Nowadays, in a fully digital landscape, the way community-driven online games are played and shared has changed – perfect conditions for a game like Crashday, and surely the ideal opportunity to pay tribute to the fans by making use of new technology and distribution channels while staying true to its roots. This is Crashday: Redline Edition.
