Final Fantasy VII follows the trend set by previous games of the series, offering a grand world map to explore, with unique locations and lengthy battles. The combat system is a trademark for the genre and the series, where the player’s team and the enemies trade blow in a turn-based manner, employing different skills and items until either side is defeated. The game’s art style is innovative for a Final Fantasy, as it uses 3D models over 2D backgrounds, resulting in a unique and memorable art style.

The whole game comes from the first person, and the camera never shows the player from the side. Also, the game is often criticised for the fact that the primary action levels take place inside the buildings, not in the open area. But the player can attack the enemy from anywhere, hiding behind a wall, or create a shelter for additional protection.

17. Binary Domain
Humanity has just solved problems like global warming - with the help of robots. Robot assistants were American, behaved correctly and differed from people clearly. But one madman from Tokyo began to produce robots that do not know that they are robots - and this can be understood because they look and behave exactly like people. This is a violation of the law, and the team of pros from different countries flies to Japan to forever stop the conveyor of the insane inventor. Robots with problems of self-identification can provide a variety for those fans of tactical shooters who are tired of terrorists and zombies.
The game has visually attractive features. The style of opponents, the style of equipping the team of heroes are very attractive and original. Some details of the battles are well presented - bullets knock out picturesque clouds of debris. Locations are less expressive - apparently, so as not to interfere with focusing on the actual combat. A notable feature of the gameplay is the dependence of the relationship in the team on the player's actions. If the team has bad mutual support - lower trust, lower trust - lower effectiveness in combat.

Kane & Lynch: Dog Days differs from all the other third person shooters by its original visual style and presentation. Everything what player sees is filtered by lo-fi visual effects and so everything looks like filmed with an old and cheap digital photo camera. The screen is shaking all the time, censuring wounds of shot enemies, colors of screen drastically changes when Lynch is wounded. The rhythm of the game is insanely quick to the point where it gets surreal.

Each level of the game is linear, as the player must often either retrieve information, some device or reach the checkpoint. However, there are numerous obstacles on the way to the objective: the protagonist has to fight off not only demons and their servants, but also combat the natural enemy in the form of darkness.
Graphics and music
The engine of the game incorporates lighting and shadowing, making every object in the game feel real and natural. The textures are designed to be unappealing, as a psychological tool to ensure the player’s urge to get rid of the enemies and escape the dark and ruined corridors, but at the same time, the level of detail in each location and each enemy is very high.

Every round consists of two phases: building phase, when the player can build towers and walls that help hold back waves of enemies, and defending phase when the player has to kill enemies in order not to let them destroy the Core.
23. Hand of Fate
Hand of Fate is an unusual combination of various genres. It is based on mechanics typical for deck-building board games, but also features rogue-like and hack-and-slash elements. Its approach to the storytelling is typical for tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons.
You play cards against the Dealer, who is both your DM, opponent, and narrator of your adventures. Each card represents an item, a character, or an encounter. You navigate your character through the story that unfurls as you reveal the cards and make your choices. The goal is to collect a powerful deck of cards that give your character better weapons, armor, and other equipment. You can unlock more cards after you defeat bosses and complete quests. The Dealer’s goal is to hamper your progress, as he plays his cards to put new obstacles in your way.
Most of the time the game will only show you the cards and the Dealer who sits across the table from you. You will learn the events from listening to him and reading the text on cards. Battles, however, are actually fought in real time by animated characters on visualized 3D arenas. This is very unusual for board game simulators and brings some variety into the gameplay.

31. Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link is an action, shooter and RPG game developed by Eidos Montreal and Nixxes. It was originally released in 2011. It was published by Square Enix. The game is rated as "Recommended" on RAWG.
You can play Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
David Anfossi produced the game. It was directed by Jean-François Dugas. It was scored by Michael McCann.
Knock-Knock is a survival horror game developed by Russian studio Ice-Pick Lodge on Unity.
The main difference from most horror games is that the fear factor itself is achieved by using the environment. Sounds, creepy texts, suspense - all of that affects the players.
The game's plot is full of unclear moments and allows for multiple interpretations. There is a house in a middle of the forest. It has been used as a lab and a home for three generations of its residents. The Last Resident, just like his ancestors, studies the world around him. One day, the Resident notices that his environment weirdly changes - sounds appear here and there, items get missing. The Resident wants to figure out what's going on.
The main objective of the game is to help the Resident survive in his house until dawn. This can be achieved by walking around the house and turning the light on in its rooms. Only if the player turns on the light in the room, it becomes possible to interact with the items placed inside that room. Such items are the clock, that can be used to speed up time, or hiding spots.
Lighting is an indicator for the appearance of your enemies as it turns off when someone is close to the player. The gameplay is affected by the Resident's bad memory and eyesight.
The time in the game is relative. It can pause, pass as usual, or go back. This depends on the player's actions.

35. Gauntlet Slayer Edition
Gauntlet is a top-down hack-and-slash game a part of the long-running Gauntlet series.
Like the original 1985 arcade game, in Gauntlet player takes a role of one of four characters and fights their way through several dungeons. The game revolves around slaying hordes of enemies, killing bosses, acquiring points and unlocking new abilities. There are four players to choose from Barbarian, Valkyrie, Elf, and Wizard. Each of them has the unique set of weapons and abilities. The Barbarian is the strongest melee fighter in the game; Valkyrie has a shield and spear that allow her to pierce enemies from a distance, Elf can shoot arrows and throw bomb and Wizard can combine three elements to create different spells.
The game heavily relies on multiplayer. Up to four players can play cooperatively. Playing with other people requires coordination since some of the players’ abilities can hurt other players. Besides, all the loot and extra items in dungeons, such as food that recovers the characters’ HP, accrue to the first player that collects it.
The game was initially released only for PC. In 2015, it received an updated PlayStation 4 port with Slayer Edition subtitle. The update brought a new “Endless” game mode, new weapons and abilities, and some gameplay tweaks such as increased difficulty and replacement of the in-game shop with loadout system. The PC version also received the update.
POSTAL is the first part in its series of shooting games. It is best known and somewhat infamous for its uncanny violence, cynical black humor, and a highly controversial theme. The game offers the player to "go postal" on a spree shooting across the city.
The player controls the protagonist, nicknamed The Postal Dude: a homeless middle-aged man who apparently goes crazy and hears disembodied voices. He believes in a conspiracy theory that US government has poisoned his hometown with a nerve agent, and he's the only sane person around. He tries to eliminate the crowd he considers "infected". His goal is to fight his way to the US Air Force base which he believes is responsible for the presumed attack.
Unlike its better-known sequel, POSTAL is 2D and uses top-down and isometric views. On each level, the player has to kill a specified share of enemies: civilians, military, and police alike. When this goal is complete, the door to the next level will appear. The player can complete the level even if The Postal Dude is killed, as long as the number of his own kills is satisfactory. The character can carry up to 8 types of weapons with varying strength and ammo limit. His basic gun is the weakest but has indefinite ammo supply.
Expansions and adaptations
There's an expansion pack Special Delivery that adds more levels and characters. In 2016, the game was remastered and re-released as Postal Redux. The game was unsuccessfully adapted to film by Uwe Boll.
The ancient myth of Pandora's box serves as the starting point of this game. Archaeologists find an artifact, a mysterious box, in ruins on the ocean floor, in the early 21st century. They can not determine what it is and put a find in one of the museums in New York, where it is well guarded.
However, there is a person in the world who knows exactly what it is. This is the millionaire Ormond LeFey. LeFey hires an experienced thief Charles Deckard. Deckard must enter the museum, open this artifact and take its contents.
Pawn in someone else's game
Deckard easily bypasses the security system of the museum and opens the box. When he does this, Signet appears on his left hand, and a powerful cloud of energy rips out of the box into the sky.
Deckard leaves the museum and sees that there are creatures running around the streets, which were known only from myths. The sky is also full of these creatures, and all of them, both in heaven and on earth, attack people, tear them apart, turn over cars and destroy buildings.
From Pawn to Queen
Deckard is the only person capable of removing monsters from our world. Deckard has to fight monsters with conventional weapons, but Signet on his arm absorbs the energy of dead monsters, this energy is able to heal Deckard and give him the power to "kinetic strike". Some useful things also do not work unless you apply this energy to them.
Deckard has a notebook containing information about his tasks, monsters and weapons.
During the game, Deckard has to go to London, then again return to New York, to penetrate the headquarters of LaFay, to cope with many other missions.
Allies and multiplayer
Deckard is assisted by members of the paramilitary organization "Council of 98", this organization also knows about the artifact. The millionaire LeFay, who hired Deckard to open the artifact, is also not the loner, but the head of another organization, the Black Order, which seeks to master the forces of the artifact to conquer the world.
When playing in multiplayer mode, up to eight people can participate in the game, and the Council of 98 and the Black Order are very relevant there.

TOXIKK is a competitive online arena first-person shooter developed by Reakktor Studios.
A heavy accent on the fact that the game tries to emulate the feel of the nineties-era shooter is made by the developers. Reakktor Studios states that TOXIKK is what a typical multiplayer FPS would be if there were no MOBAs and military arcade shooters. There is no singleplayer campaign whatsoever present in the game.
The game draws heavy inspiration from Quake and Unreal Tournament in its gameplay. It combines fluid and fast movement with lethal and accurate weapons. There are no loadout or class systems present in the game, just like in classic multiplayer shooters. Instead, the weapons spawned on the map with each player beginning with a simple pistol and a chainsaw, that serves as a replacement for a knife.
Seven more weapons are present in the game: Dragoneer flamethrower, Violator assault rifle with an under-barrel grenade launcher, a shotgun, Stingray energy rifle, Falcon sniper rifle, Cerberus grenade launcher, and The Hellraiser, that one-shots any enemy. Each weapon has an alternate fire mode. For example, while using the alternate fire of a Stingray, a deadly energy beam is used instead of an energy sphere.
There are 13 maps present in the game, with one of them being a training map. Four modes are present in the game: usual Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Point Control, and Capture The Flag.
